Application Process

Next Steps

First of all you’ll complete an online application form. You’ll need to register for the specific area you’re interested in. There are also a few competency-based questions which should take about an hour.

Secondly we’ll set you a numerical/verbal test. The verbal test is for Quantitative Risk only – the numerical is for all schemes. You’ll need to set aside around 20 minutes for each test.

After this we’ll hold an interview over the phone which should last around an hour. Again, it’s competency-based, so make sure you have solid examples to substantiate all you’ve said on your application form.

Finally you’ll be invited to attend an Assessment Centre. Be warned, it’s first come first served so make sure you get your place as soon as you can.

For non-engineering candidates, this is held for one day at Head Office. You’ll be asked to prepare a short presentation to a panel of assessors, then an interview with two recruiters and finally a group exercise.

For engineering candidates we hold a two day event. It’s the same format as above but will also include a written exercise and a trip to one of our power stations.
