The energy sector is one of the most competitive industries you can join. So of course we look for innovative, dynamic people to help us stay ahead of the game. Graduates who apply to join this scheme will mainly work in the retail arm of the business in customer-facing roles with responsibility for pricing, marketing and selling gas and electricity – and billing our customers, retaining them and working on our future strategies.

You’ll have the opportunity to work in a range of areas, including PR, marketing, sales, procurement, regulation, metering, data services, strategy or in one of our contact centres. The scope of experience is huge. This scheme is also ideal if you’re not sure what area you’d like to work in. But on this scheme, the number of diverse areas that exist are something you probably won’t appreciate until you join us!

Some recent graduate projects have included improving the process used for User Acceptance Testing in the Residential business, managing part of the Single Retail Change Process project and developing a Continuous Professional Development Scheme for Product Management.

Your experience and career are about you. At the beginning of each placement we’ll discuss with you what your objectives are and try to get you as much experience as we can in that area. For example, if you want more experience with presenting we can arrange for you to run an ice-breaker session at the beginning of your placement to a focused workshop towards the end.  Our aim is to give as much responsibility as possible to our graduates.
